invites you to apply for our full-time Public Services Assistant IV position.
We are looking for a motivated individual who appreciates variety in their daily work. They will be responsible for the overall operation, safety, and security of Olin & Uris Libraries, including work with serial processing, circulation and collection maintenance functions, as well as interpreting and enforcing library policies and supervising student employees. Experience supervising or leading others is helpful. Reliability and the ability to multi-task will be critical for success in this position.
This position is located in Ithaca, New York, and the selected candidate will be expected to work on the Ithaca campus. This is an on-going, benefits-eligible appointment. The weekly schedule will be 39 hours per week, Sunday through Thursday. Sunday hours are 10am-6:30pm and Monday through Thursday is 8:30am-4:30pm. Schedule will shift in accordance with changes in the library’s hours of operation.
What you will need:

Bachelor’s Degree and up to 4 years relevant experience or equivalent combination

3-5 years of customer service or service industry work experience

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Ability to work effectively with a diverse population in a busy public services setting

Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to changing work environment while providing consistent and accurate information.

Organizational ability and aptitude for detailed work
-
Demonstrated experience with new and emerging technologies; must be able to work with desktop applications and the Internet and show demonstrated ability to learn new systems quickly and effectively.
