Reports to: Department Manager
Location: Liverpool
Full Time: Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Exempt: Starting at $54,000, depending on experience

What is a Purchaser?
We are looking for a proactive employee to provide customer service and support to our internal and external customers. Some responsibilities are:
- Building relationships with current vendors and acquiring new vendors to provide us with products and services
- Manage spending budgets to ensure standards are achieved
- Evaluating suppliers, considering price, quality, availability, and other criteria.
- Interviewing vendors and visiting suppliers’ facilities to learn about products, services, and pricing.
- Negotiating contracts with vendors and suppliers to obtain the best deals on behalf of the company.
- Verifying purchases by comparing them to a master list and recommending alternatives for expensive or irrelevant products
- Interacting with suppliers to schedule delivery times and resolve shipping errors.
- Authorize payments and maintain receipts, records, and inventories.
- Develop and implement procedures for ensuring that adequate inventory levels are present.
- Identifies and optimizes common inventory items.
- Visually recognize inventory opportunities and react accordingly.
- Ensures inventory counts are completed regularly and timely.
- Audits the facility’s entire inventory on a regular basis and provides reports to management.
- Keeps up with changing technologies such as computer software, etc.
- Verifies production critical inventory orders are received and shipped.
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Bachelor's degree in business management degree is preferred, or five years prior experience in a purchasing role. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Strong leadership skills are required; you must be able to coordinate acquiring products and goods effectively.
- Must have strong planning skills with the ability to think proactively. Must be organized and able to prioritize.
- Strong oral and written communication skills are required; one Must be able to speak with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Excellent customer relationship skills required; ability to problem solve.
- Strong attention to detail; ability to comprehend new materials.
- Strong personal computer skills that include the ability to send/receive email messages, post information to a database or spreadsheet, and perform basic word processing, bookkeeping, and/or data entry. Ability to create spreadsheets, graphics, and reports, using standard software applications. Proficient in Office suites and project management tools such as MS Project and JIRA.
- Experience with various styles of project planning, management, and execution.
- Able to meet deadlines while effectively multi-tasking
