Amerit Fleet Solutions, one of the leading fleet maintenance companies in the US, is looking for an experienced, charismatic, self-motivated Purchasing Manager to manage our Central Purchasing team.
As the Purchasing Manager you will be responsible for sourcing automotive and heavy-duty parts, equipment, commodities, goods, etc. The successful candidate will be able to perform strategic procurement activities across multiple categories of spend, while managing contract spend with primary suppliers to maximize savings and other initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities
· Must be able to respond to various levels of per managers with accuracy and appropriate professionalism.
· Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
· Manage a team of 15+ part coordinators. To include:
o Timely and accurate timecard approvals of team members.
o Managing time off between team members to ensure adequate coverage of weekdays, holidays, and weekends.
o Ensure all purchasing needs, both scheduled and demand related, are met by team members.
o All office-related requirements are always met by all staff members.
· Includes the modification and writing of job descriptions for new openings.
· The hiring and dismissal of team members based on needs and compliance with company policies.
· Assist peers in the development of purchasing strategies.
· Lead and develop/report metrics of the team in the execution of purchasing strategies.
· Inter office managerial cooperation to maintain alignment with company expectations.
· All interactions, electronic or otherwise, are always professional for both self and team.
Requirements & Qualifications
· Proven working experience as Purchasing Manager, Agent, or Officer.
· Comprehensive knowledge of Automotive and/or Heavy-Duty parts, equipment, and commodities.
· Strong written and verbal communication.
· Ability to cross manage working groups on projects.
· Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management in the aftermarket and dealer parts space.
· Interest in market dynamics along with business sense.
· Ability to gather and analyze data and to work with figures.
· Solid judgement along with decision making skills.
· Strong leadership capabilities
· Working experience with multiple POS and parts lookup software’s, including fleet management and/or accounting software is a plus.
· BS degree in supply chain management, logistics or business administration is a plus.
