Groundworks is looking for a mid-level QA tester and Automation Engineer to join our team in our Virginia Beach Corporate office. In this position, you will be responsible for ensuring our software applications are error free and helping us establish automation. This is a new role within the company, and an opportunity to work closely with multiple Software Development teams and the Product team. This position will directly report to the QA Automation lead engineer.

What You'll Do:

• Work with our product and software development team to gain knowledge of our business process.
• Manual testing of all development work will be completed each sprint with an eye toward what can be automated.
• Help the QA lead engineer to set Quality Assurance standards for tall software development teams to adhere to during the development and deployment process.
• Recommend tool sets and strategies for automating our processes.
• Establish automation best practices for our team to work and adhere to.
• Work with the product development team to develop test plans based on acceptance criteria for work to be delivered.
• Write and execute test scripts as needed to complete the test plan.

Experience You'll Bring:

• A passion for quality, and the desire to build the best products possible.
• Experience with acceptance testing, smoke testing, and ad hoc testing.
• Experience writing and executing test plans
• Knowledge of system best practices and methodologies.
• Familiar with project methodologies (agile, waterfall)

Special Consideration:

• Experience with implementing CI/CD
