DESCRIPTION: Keville Enterprises, Inc., a growing Construction Management Consulting and Inspection firm, is seeking candidates for a full-time position for an Inspector for the Dallas Fort Worth Airport construction program. The successful candidate must have at least 5 years of experience as an Inspector on building and/or heavy civil projects. Experience with airport terminals and airport runway/taxiway/apron construction is strongly preferred.

DUTIES: The duties and responsibilities of the Inspector include the following:

  • Inspect work performed by construction contractors to ensure conformance with contract plans and specifications.
  • Track and document work performed. Prepare Daily Reports electronically and submit by the end of the day.
  • Review and comment on requests for change orders.
  • Work with construction Contractor, DFW Airport, commercial airline, air operations, terminal management, terminal vendor, program management, and design personnel to ensure that all work operations are coordinated to the benefit of all involved, with no impacts to the traveling public.
  • Review submittals for contractor furnished materials and equipment. Ensure that construction submittals are approved as required by the contract, prior to allowing material on site and work to proceed with these items.
  • Maintain a copy of the drawings and specifications at the jobsite, complete with up-to-date approved revisions, with an up-to-date submittal log and submittal register as well as copies of approved samples.
  • Immediately report non-complying work as well as individuals who fail to perform their work in a skillful, safe and workmanlike manner. Maintain a rework log.
  • Maintain as-built data info. Use as-built data to review the contractor's as-builts for accuracy.
  • Perform Punch-out inspection, participate in Final inspections, submit lists of deficiencies, and ensure correction of all deficiencies prior to final inspection.
  • Ensure that all required close-out items are correct, complete and in accordance with the contract prior to being submitted to the owner.
  • Ensure that all applicable tests and observations required by the contract are performed and shall coordinate all on-site testing required by this contract.

QUALIFICATIONS:

(1) The Construction Inspector must be a high school graduate or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years total construction experience. A Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or related field is strongly preferred.

(2) Experience should include a minimum of 2 projects for the vertical construction of a facility and/or horizontal construction of heavy civil works valued at $5M or greater.

(3) Thorough knowledge of building construction practices and methods.

(4) Must have demonstrated ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.

(5) Ability to write and speak effectively to report on progress and outcome of technical assignments and to present recommendations.

(6) Ability to monitor construction projects to a successful and timely completion.

(7) Must have excellent computer skills, and must be able to use an electronic tablet for daily work.

(8) Knowledge of safety and occupational health principles, practices, procedures, laws and regulations as they relate to engineering performance requirements.

(9) Satisfactory results acceptable to KEI from a criminal background check and a pre-employment drug test is required. OSHA 10 certification is a condition of employment. This employer participates in e-verify. More Information: http://www.dhs.gov/e-verify
