We are looking for an engaged and enthusiastic Software Engineer in Quality to join the Core Experience tribe. Core X for short, drives the user experience of most of Spotify’s Android and iOS mobile app features. We work on both music and talk audio, defining the state of the art for a mobile audio streaming experience. The tribe works across product, design, engineering, data science and user research in cross-functional teams.
A significant part of our engineering is on Android and iOS mobile platforms and consists of rapid prototyping, a/b testing and scaling the features for hundreds of millions of users. We are looking for someone to work in one of our product areas, together with a number of QA’s supporting and innovating with squads in improving their quality practices, but also driving bigger quality initiatives across the whole tribe, as well as outside, pairing up with other teams in improving the overall user experience.
What you'll do
- Advocate, drive and collaborate cross-organisational quality initiatives across Spotify
- Influence teams to do more proactive quality verification
- Mentor and guide developers, product managers and designers in sound quality practices
- Advocate for quality within cross-functional development teams
- Coordinate testing efforts to ensure the delivery of quality features
- Make testing an integral part of the development process
- Contribute to Spotify’s long term vision and strategy for QA and Test Automation
- Look for opportunities to get test automation and quality practices into the product development process
- Work on improving maintenance and support related quality processes as well as supporting teams in defining quality strategies for experimentation
- Take our test automation to the next level
