This includes incoming raw material specifications and outbound finished products. The QA tech is to be the front-line quality champion for all quality facility initiatives. The QA tech will be an expert on SOPs for the assigned area and one point of contact to ensure SOPs are followed and personnel fully understand the processes.

Responsible for the overall quality for assigned area. This includes incoming raw material specifications and outbound finished products. The QA tech is to be the front-line quality champion for all quality facility initiatives. The QA tech will be the assigned expert for product specifications and will disseminate that knowledge to key personnel to ensure a best in class finished product is achieved. The QA tech will be an expert on SOPs for assigned area and will be one point of contact to ensure SOPs are followed and personnel fully understand the processes.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Assumes responsibility for the implementation of specifications, SOPs, and company for assigned areas.
  • Works with supervisors and leads to ensure SOPs are understood and fully implemented.
  • Champions SOP implementation for all functional areas developing root cause analysis when process is out of control limits.
  • Responsible to ensure raw material and finished product meets or exceeds quality product specification.
  • Works with Regulatory Agencies to ensure labels meet product specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Performs random audits on suppliers, verifying that the supplier is meeting or exceeding specifications.
  • Performs random audits on finished products ensuring products meet or exceed specifications.
  • Assumes responsibility for the implementation of scale functions.
  • Oversees the scale operations ensuring that labels have all regulatory requirement set forth by Regulatory Agencies and are within Customer Specifications.
  • Sets up scale for random weight products ensuring scale is calibrated correctly.
  • Assumes responsibility for assigned area documentation is accurate, timely, and actionable.
  • Responsible for facility temperature checks/log.
  • Provide assistance with product evaluations, and communication to assist other staff members in alternate product categories in the event of a product complains or food safety issue.
  • Performs plant audits and inspections as relates to quality of product and needs to produce a quality product.
  • Ensures required daily paperwork is completed on time and completely.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English Language, Spanish helpful
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Significant experience in production process
  • Must attend work consistently
  • Considerable knowledge of production processes and work requirements
  • Ability to instruct and lead effectively
  • Ability to make quick and decisive decisions; good judgment and common sense required

  • Safety Training
  • Safe Quality Food (SQF) training
  • Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) training
  • Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) training
  • Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) training
  • Food Defense training
  • Training and understanding of employee handbook/company policies and procedures

Physical Requirements:

  • Standing, walking, bending, lifting, stooping, crouching, kneeling intermittently.
  • Ability to lift to 50lbs.
