Fleet Quality Assurance Manager - Marietta, GA
NOTE: The following position is for a proposed business within First Transit. Only candidates meeting the work experience requirements will be considered.
First Transit is seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to manage the maintenance quality program of Cobb Linc bus operation. This position will determine performance and adherence to company maintenance policies and procedures by conducting a comprehensive check of day-to-day maintenance activities, making recommendations for improvements, and maintaining Cobb Linc/client relations while upholding a strong commitment to safety. Responsible for 128 revenue vehicles.

QA Manager Major Responsibilities:
- Performs road call tracking and trend identification. Assess trends daily to establish proactive ways to eliminate those trends. (data does no good unless analyzed and acted upon)
- Ensures contractual compliance as well as maintaining First Transit maintenance standards. This includes the responsibility to ensure safety program standards are met.
- Performs trend identification and tracks buses with repeat problems to aid in repeat road call reduction. Produces proactive solutions for these problems.
- Performs Preventive Maintenance Inspection and Repair Audits as well as Interior Clean Audits.
- Provides training and/or counseling in deficient areas. Progressive discipline may be necessary, and working after normal business hours may be required to accomplish this.
- Works closely with the parts department to ensure parts are available for QC, QA, as well as PMI defects. Assist the parts department with ordering as needed.
- Establishes and maintains positive, professional, strong relationships with clients, peers, subordinates, and all relative departments. Ensures proper communication levels are maintained between Maintenance and Operations.
- Works closely with the Client to ensure buses are available for inspection. Verifies defects during the inspection and communicates with the Maintenance department to ensure defects are repaired and all client concerns are addressed.
- Monitors Fleet defects, campaigns, and warranties to ensure all items are addressed timely. Random inspections and repair follow-ups may be necessary to accomplish this.
- Coordinates emissions reports and registrations for location.
- Performs other job duties as assigned. Works for the best interest of First Transit and will do whatever it takes to make the location as successful as possible.
QA Manager Job Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years of continued education or 3-5 years of transit maintenance supervisory experience.
- Experience in both Fixed and Paratransit fleet preferred.
- Knowledge of transit bus vehicles, components, and data/communications systems.
- Technical knowledge of maintenance policies and procedures.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to effectively communicate and interact with all levels of management as well as internal and external customers.
- Previous audit and/or quality assurance experience; Complete understanding of performance indicator reports.
- Excellent written, verbal, and customer service communication skills. Ability to read, write and speak English.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to effectively delegate tasks and provide appropriate supervision and follow-up to department staff.
- Subject to a drug test.
