What are we looking for:
DRT is seeking you, our next Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist to support the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). As part of your duties. You will conduct and test for the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) website and its data sets. Review data sets for quality. You will be available in a one-stop shop for users to explore, access, and visualize the NCHS' public health data sets. You will work directly with government leads and DRT's team of public health data specialists, developers, and analysts. You will ensure the quality and useability of data sets and ensure site development meets requirements.
Project you will support:
DRT provides GIS and data solutions to address diverse, complex, and emerging problems within the public health domains of environmental health, infectious disease, chronic disease, and emergency preparedness/response. Our support includes the design, development, and enhancements of internal and external applications, websites, and database solutions with geospatial and data components. Our team develops innovative data capture and analysis techniques in the field to enhance emergency response efforts all around the world.
Fun stuff you will do on the job:
- Accesses the quality of data sets in terms of standardization and useability
- Manipulates data sets to address quality nonconformities in MS Excel
- Enters data into data management and visualization systems, such as Socrata Creates test plans, test cases, and report test results based upon functional and technical requirements
- Facilitates user acceptance testing (UAT); leads test kick offs and post-testing review sessions
- Documents and troubleshoot errors using test management software (Jira) and MS Office tools (Excel)
- Prepares reports, develops presentations, and reviews technical documentation
- Collaborates with business analysts, project managers, and development team to diagnose and trouble shoot identified errors
This is you:
- 1 year of experience on data or IT development projects
- Data fluency gained from professional and academic projects
- Proficiency with MS Office suite, especially MS Excel
- Ability to learn new tools, technologies, and processes
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple aspects of a projects at once
- Ability to work both independently and with a team
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Must be able to receive a Public Trust
- 1 year of experience on data or IT development projects
