POSITION SUMMARY:

This full-time position will support product development and routine operations at our main production facility in Shakopee, MN by ensuring materials and products meet quality requirements and standards. We are seeking a dedicated employee with a strong work ethic and a high sense of urgency. While part of a large company overall, our facility is unique, and you will be a critical part of a tight knit production team. ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Conducts routine and non-routine tests using variety of analytical instruments and methods to maintain product quality working in a lab environment.

  • Constructs and alters quality assurance evaluations according to product specifications.
  • Monitors quality for incoming materials and finished products.
  • Assists with material non-conformances and failure analysis.
  • Assists in the creation and maintenance of testing standard, processes and systems that align with industry standards.
  • Perform product testing, recording, and analyzing data results.
  • Maintain and operate laboratory equipment and other lab instruments, including PH Meter, Density Meter, and scales.
  • Implement automated batch creation and programming.
  • Conduct production batch input.
  • Monitor mixer production; make corrections and adjustments as necessary.
  • Entering blends and batch criteria into SAP; compounding during production
  • Basic data entry for Excel spreadsheet reporting

EXPECTATIONS:

  • Demonstrate regular attendance and timeliness in reporting to work, meetings and completing assignments.
  • Work consistently the hours of 7:00am-3:30pm (June-March).
  • Ability to work overtime, extended hours and some Saturdays(7:00am-noon) during the spring fertilizer season (April-May).
  • Adhere to industry standards, best practices and quality practices.
  • Resolve technical issues utilizing structured problem-solving methods.
  • May work in other areas as needed or assigned.
  • Understand and participate in the company’s confidentiality policy.
  • No travel is required for this position.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1-3 years’ experience in Life Science industry or related school experience.
  • Experience in lieu of a college degree will be considered.
  • Post High School education preferred, depending on overall work experience.
  • Ability to work and interact well with others.
  • Comfortable working in laboratory environment.
  • Operate testing equipment required in standardized tests in consistent manner to generate credible data results
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Previous experience with ERP software such as SAP is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good judgement in making decisions.
  • Possess high attention to detail and be organized.
  • Ability to communicate complex situations clearly and multi-task with other team members.
