A Brief Overview
The Quality Consultant works under the direction of the Director of Quality supporting design, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of quality practice across University HealthCare Alliance – Stanford Medicine Partners. This position will provide support and leadership in areas of standards, due diligence, clinical performance and analytics, process improvement, and to provide facilitation in response to gaps in quality initiatives/metrics. The Quality Consultant works collaboratively with others throughout SMP and Stanford to design and implement the systems consistent with group practice, policies, clinical standards, and goals.

What you will do
- Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Serves as a quality clinician with oversite of quality documentation for SMP providers and their clinic staff. Works to develop and implement standard work processes that ensure organizational quality goals are adequately addressed.
Designs and implements on-going workflow systems and reporting of provider and clinic performance to assure quality goals are measured as per standard metrics such as the Integrated Healthcare Association AMP measures, HEDIS, Medicare/CMS measures, MIPS, Healthy Planet, and managed care STAR ratings.
Advises on clinical documentation and workflow improvements associated with integration of the Electronic Health Record into clinical processes.
Acts as a resource for Population Health Coordinators in outreach and chart reviews to meet quality outcomes, metrics, and standards.
Assists in the development of workflows, and pursuit lists for Population Health Coordinators to close gaps in quality measures and improve health maintenance outcomes.
Tracks outreach progress and creates reports to measure impact.
Serves as a subject matter expert for Population Health Coordinator work processes.
In collaboration with the Director of Quality and SMP leadership, designs educational tools regarding changes in the Electronic Health Record documentation to support quality outcomes and standards.
Develops and updates the provider education materials and information regarding P4P incentive metrics on an annual basis.
Acts as provider liaison for quality metric specifications and EPIC workflows.
Attends meetings in the various regions within SMP as requested to present outreach efforts and progress.
Collaborates across multiple workgroups and attends meetings within SMP and Stanford in support of the goals of SMP and the Quality Department.
Participates in development & maintenance of A3 for department improvement.

Performs other duties as assigned and participates in organization projects as assigned.
Adheres to safety, P4P’s (if applicable), HIPAA and compliance policies.
Manages information utilizing appropriate manual or electronic systems. Maintains confidentiality and documents clinical information accurately and completely and within specified time. Designs systems for data collection to be used for clinical or operations performance measurements.
Maximizes productivity by focusing on goals, purpose, and priorities. Completes written reports and projects within appropriate time frames. Reviews tasks, sets priorities, and revises plans for effective time management.
Education Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Health Care related field, or equivalent practical experience. Required

- Minimum 3 years ambulatory performance improvement experience. Required
Familiarity with comparative databases and statistical methodology. Required

- Verbal and written communication skills demonstrate courtesy, compassion, and helpfulness in a professional manner towards employees, patients, and patient families.
Basic Windows skills to include keyboarding, mouse movement and computer data entry skills to enter patient information.
Demonstrated ability to implement new programs/projects with focus on continuous process improvement across multiple projects at multiple sites concurrently.
Knowledge of HEDIS measures and their accompanying specifications.
Strong communication, collaboration, influencing, teamwork, project, and time management skills required.
Knowledge of licensure/scope of practice.
Competency in computer systems and software used in functional area including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
Working knowledge of statistical analysis and reporting practices pertaining to quality improvement and program evaluation.
Committed to own continuous education, and networking with affiliate institutions, organizations or associations and other health care providers, to stay in touch with developments and trends in health care market as it relates to best practices in the areas of quality and risk.
Effectively establishes and maintains collaborative working relationships with the medical staff, management team and staff to achieve best practice outcomes, improve clinical performance and corrective action plan response.
Improves responsiveness and relations with all customers, including patients and their families, faculty and community physicians, other participating providers, affiliated health plans, staff, regulatory and accrediting bodies.
Experience working with EPIC and quality measure mapping in EPIC.
Familiarity with comparative databases and statistical methodology.
Organizational and multi-tasking skills.

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $55.71 - $73.83 per hour
