Summary:
This position inspects and produces layout reports for machined parts by setting up and operating Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) as well as assists in determining reasons for dimension deviations.
Essential Functions:
- Thepay scale for this position is currently $22 to $33 per hour.
- Read and interpret blueprints
- Set up, operate, and program CMM using PC-DMIS
- Mount, install, align, and secure tools, attachments, fixtures and work pieces on CMM using hand tools and precision measuring instruments
- Measure dimensions of finished work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments, templates and fixtures
- Layout work pieces, and generate CMM report for first piece and dimensional checks
- Data entry for layout work pieces
- Identify and handle non-conforming products
- Identify visual defects on inspected work pieces
- Working with engineers and operators to discuss any machining issues
- Ensure production line, gauges and measuring devices are working correctly
- Maintain calibration activities for the plant
- Assist production leads in training team members to perform various inspections on the production floor
- Responsible for keeping work area clean and organized. Ensure 5-S is adhered to properly

- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 years' experience with operating CMM using PC-DMIS preferred; programming experience is a plus
- GD&T
- Blueprints and CMM report
- Gages, Micrometers, calipers, height gauges, indicating micrometers, etc.
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
- MS Office applications such as Excel and Word.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
- Must be able to routinely lift/carry 50lbs
