Job Description:
Primary responsibility of a Quality Control Technician is being responsible for testing machine bases to ensure they conform to company standards and may also assist in the running of customer product samples. Quality control technicians test machine bases after final assembly to ensure quality levels are met. Quality control technicians work on a variety of machine bases, including testing, balloon folding and crimping machines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and maintain testing reports.
- Ensure compliance with company standards and specifications.
- Identify areas for quality control improvement and implement new methods accordingly.
- Improve /modify existing materials as needed.
- Communicate quality or specification concerns with urgency.
- Document and monitor corrective and preventative actions using databases.
- Aid in writing or updating procedures/documents.
- Ad-hoc projects as needed.
- Problem solving, teamwork, and basic mechanical abilities.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; and two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills:
Ability to read, write and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to present effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
Math Skills:
Working knowledge of various mathematical concepts including fractions, ratios, and proportions
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Travel:
Up to 5%
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Most testing time will be spent sitting; however, bending , standing , and walking will be necessary. Using hands to handle or feel, reaching with hands and arms. Hearing/listening for machine deficiencies. Occasional lifting up to 20 lbs. The following vision requirements are needed:
- Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less)
- Color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors)
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Some of your time will be spent working near moving mechanical parts. Moderate noise levels can be expected in this position.
