Job Description

The Quality Engineer will have the responsibility of developing and collecting data related to product quality to drive improvement of pump production/manufacturing processes and ensure on-going compliance of products in accordance with required company procedures. They will analyze this data for the development, maintenance, and execution of quality engineering programs, standards, and improvements within the company. They will lead and/or coordinate root case investigation and material disposition report activities for non-conforming product with a cross function team.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain quality standards and procedures (SOPs and work instructions) for product inspection, testing, and evaluation.
• Develop forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting product quality and vendor reliability data.
• Develop and manage reports related to supplier/vendor quality performance and product non-conformance/scrap rates.
• Communicate quality non-conformance issues to the product supplier/vendor and coordinate solutions to eliminate the issues.
• Develop and manage a calibration program for all company quality inspection tools.
• Lead internal auditing activities that maintain the effectiveness of the quality management system.
• Lead and attend meetings with the upper management team to provide YTD updates, report on analysis of quality performance indicators (yield, non-conformances, complaints, etc.) and present trends identified as needed/requested.
• Leads or assists with product failure investigations, using root cause analysis tools, and proposing/implementing corrective and/or preventative actions.
• Evaluates and investigates complaints as necessary to identify trends and drive quality improvements.
• Promotes use of statistical analysis for the determination of quality improvements and provides analyses to support risk mitigation.
• Maintains database of electronic and hard copy information/documentation.
• Creates training materials and conducts training sessions on quality control activities as required.

Starting pay rate depends on experience, minimum $56,000 annually.

Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., 40 hours per week.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor of Science Degree
• 5+ years of quality/manufacturing experience
• Quality assurance/control and quality auditing
• Lean Six Sigma green belt or equivalent lean manufacturing training and experience
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001, metrology, calibration, manufacturing processes, statistical techniques, quality inspection tools, sampling and first article principles
• Strong computer and information technology skills (Word, Excel, Power Point, ERP software, statistical software usage and principles)
• Strong leadership and communication skills, both written and verbal
• Excellent creative thinking and problem solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Good organizational skills and actively works to minimize complexity
