Job description

  • Monitor various construction functions related to underground OSP Fiber construction.
  • Ensure company safety polices and guidelines are adhered to.
  • Work with production employees and subcontractors to ensure accurate daily reporting guidelines are followed for the purposes of tail boards, production reports, customer billing, payroll, as-builts, damage claims, monitor and document the quality of construction.
  • Walk the work site(s) daily and document all footages and unit quantities.
  • Requires thorough knowledge of underground fiber construction practices.

OTHER DUTIES:

  • Submit written evaluation for both employees and contractors’ performance and quality of work on a regular basis.
  • Ensure all crews provide a high quality and safe work product.
  • Ensure any property damage or incidents are documented and submitted to the direct supervisor immediately.
  • Must be able to read and understand a construction print on an electronic tablet.
  • Must have a good understanding of all equipment used in fiber construction.
  • Must have good organizational and communication skills.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have a minimum of three to five years of verifiable experience in OSP construction.
  • Must have a minimum of one-year OSP Construction supervisory experience.
  • Must have a clean valid driver’s license.
  • This position does not require a CDL license however a DOT medical card is needed and can be secured after employment.

MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT USED: PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS


  • Must be able to safely operate a company vehicle (pickup truck or similar), laptop computer or tablet, GPS equipment.
  • May sit, stand, walk, and/or drive for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs., must be able to reach, bend, and twist.
  • May be exposed to foul weather for extended times (hot, cold, wet.)
  • May be required to work extended hours related to field conditions or project schedules.

  • Must pass a pre-employment background check & drug screening check.
  • Must possess a clean valid U.S. driver’s license.
