Quality Technician Contractor
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Performs critical inspections to evaluate and analyze difficult quality problems, often in collaboration with an engineer
  • Reads and interprets complicated blueprints and specifications, including customer and vendor specifications
  • Assists Production during the start-up of new fabrication and authorizes the commencement of production
  • Participates in Project meetings and receives TPIs (Third Party Inspectors) and Client representatives (TechnipFMC and/or final Client)
  • Follows internal procedures and QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety, Environmental) Management Systems and other governmental and customer requirements and specifications
  • Manages all documentation related to Quality
  • Receives, classifies, reconciles, interprets, consolidates, and/or summarizes documents and information related to quality
  • Maintains records and balance information for control purposes
  • Compiles reports, drawing data from a variety of sources within the quality department
  • Authorizes proceeding to the next step for semi-finished products, and ensures that end products conform to established procedures and specifications
  • May train other inspectors.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 6 + years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment
  • ASQ Certified Quality Inspector Certification is preferred.

KEY INTERACTIONS:
  • Internally: QHSES, Production, Engineering Departments.
  • Externally: Clients and third-party inspectors.

EWORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Spend 20-30% of time in an office environment and/or 70-80% in a shop environment supporting Subsea Service and REMS (Research, Engineering, Manufacturing & Supply Chain) activities.
  • May be exposed to possible hazards including working with high-pressure equipment, high noise, inclement weather, chemicals, pressure testing, heavy lift operations, and shop/field traffic.
  • Frequent walking, climbing, bending, stooping, kneeling, pushing upward, crawling in confined workspaces, and lifting daily.
