The Quality Technician will be responsible for monitoring, measuring, and improving products and associated processes on their shift and for ensuring that Safety, Quality, and Production efficiencies meet the standards and expectations of the company and customers. General Purpose
- Assure production quality throughout industrial rack manufacturing facility.
- Reduce instances of quality issues to protect the customers and stakeholders from risks.
- Reduce quality waste in all areas, in particular rework labor and material scrap.
- Reduce process variation and improve yields.
- Assure employees are trained to recognize good quality and how to solve problems.
Responsibilities:
- Support quality policy and company mission.
- Responsible for verifying quality management system is working through auditing
- Provide hands-on support for manufacturing personnel (i.e. drawing interpretation, quality control techniques, continual improvements)
- Escalate and communicate quality issues to quality manager, plant manager, supervisors, and team leaders.
- Complete product audits. Assure product quality, counts and packaging meet requirements before release to shipping.
- Perform incoming inspections as required.
- Perform first article inspections to support production team.
- Develop standardized work for all processes in the supply chain. Create visual aids and video instructions.
- Execute control plans with effective work instructions, checklists, and measurement devices.
- Control nonconforming materials through effective identification, segregation, disposition, repair, and reinspection.
- Eliminate problems through effective root cause analysis and robust corrective action. Implement mistake-proofing wherever possible. Use structured problem-solving tools such as 5Why, fishbone analysis, and 8D.
- Use basic quality analysis tools, such as checksheets, Pareto analysis, and trends. Maintain key performance indicators throughout the plant.
- Manage quality records through issuing revisions as the control plan changes, and collect finished records for retention
- Cooperate with outside calibration laboratory for collection and maintenance of measurement tools and equipment
- Communicate customer issues with operations team and devise ways of improving the customer experience, including resolving problems and complaints.
- Work closely with management team to set and/or implement policies, procedures and systems and to follow through with implementation.
- Communicate quality policies and/or issues at department meetings.
- Actively participate in toolbox talks with the manufacturing teams.
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities as they relate to quality.
- Maintain safe and healthy work environment by following procedures and identifying safety risks in the safety database.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma
- 2 years manufacturing experience
- Knowledge and experience in quality systems preferred

Schedule:
5 day workweek
- 8 - hour shift
OT after 40 hours as needed.
