Job Description:
SUMMARY
The Supervisor Quarry is responsible for leading quarry operations and personnel. They will perform necessary quality control checks and adjustments on raw materials, products, and production process, to ensure quality products are produced in a safe and efficient manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Ensure all mining and mobile equipment activities are compliant with SGI/MSHA safety standards
  • Supervision of employees performing day to day quarry operations and mobile equipment maintenance
  • Timely management of procurement processes associated with quarry operation and maintenance
  • Provide leadership in the quarry development process
  • Conduct mobile equipment training
  • Determine annual capital requirements associated with mobile equipment
  • Communicate mobile equipment and quarry operational expectations
  • Work with Maintenance Superintendent to manage mobile equipment expenses and operational expectations
  • Coordinate outside vendor activities, including blasting
Technical knowledge/skills
  • Familiar with standard manufacturing concepts, practices
  • Knowledge of drilling and blasting operations, and procedures
  • Knowledge of inventory management
  • Environmental understanding, dust control and storm water inspections.

General knowledge/skills
  • Clear and concise communication, up and down with the organization
  • Analytical and problem solving skills
Leadership/Supervision
  • Ability to lead/influence/manage people
Education/Experience
  • Minimum of High School Diploma, Engineering degree preferred
  • 3-5 years experience as an industrial supervisor

Travel Requirements: Limited domestic travel
Working Conditions: Work is performed in enclosed facilities and outdoor areas where extremes of heat, cold, dust, noise, wet conditions and rough terrain exist.
Physical Requirements: Prolonged sitting/standing, lifting objects (up to 50 lbs), extended regular hours, bending, climbing, kneeling, stooping
