Kitware, Inc. seeks R&D Engineer-SC1 in our Clifton Park, NY loc. May telecommute as necessary. Design/dev end-user tools for data analysis, visualization, simulation input prep, modeling & other sci apps. Contribute to/support open source communities built around open source tools. Solve probs incl dev distributed memory parallel algorithms for data analysis + visualization; optimizing distributed parallel codes; + compiling + maintaining software on supercomputers. Dev next gen data analysis & visualization tools incl support for fine-grained parallelism on massively threaded shared memory systems. May undergo background checks. Little domestic travel may be involved. Must have Masters in Comp Sci, Computational Sci, Comp Eng’ring or rel field. Requires skills in C++11 or C++14; and in developing practical solutions to challenging high performance computing problems. Also requires skills in MPI programming, GPU programming, or multi-threaded programming.
