Job Summary: Work with Physicians and radiology coordinator staff to evaluate and execute a means to create work flow efficiency.
Major Job Functions:
- Supervises all Radiology Coordinators. Makes sure that all shifts have coverage at ECU Health, ERI Arlington office and Physicians East.
- Work dependently and independently of others.
- Troubleshoot problems for outside hospitals.
- Backup and Liaison for Radiology Coordinators.
- Provide work schedule for Radiology Coordinators and approve their time cards..
- Oversee training of new Radiology Coordinators and make sure training material stays up-to-date.
- Interview potential Radiology Coordinator candidates.
- Ordering and maintaining supplies for office, hospital, and Physicians East.
- Distributes paperwork from outside hospitals to physicians to be read.
- Answers the telephone and distributes calls as needed as well as answering physicians’ pages.
- Get physicians on the phone as needed.
- Picks up lunch, dinner, or snacks for physicians as needed.
- Will make calls to remote hospitals.
- Fax preliminary reports to remote hospitals.
- Pulls up studies on PAC system. Call them when there are problems.
- Processes paperwork on pending list.
- Keeps detailed logs of all paperwork.
- Assist interdepartmental hospital personnel, as well as satellite hospital personnel, with anything they need.
- Work on fax machine and computer when needed.
Specifications:
- Education: Minimum high school diploma with excellent communication skills
- Experience: Good knowledge of radiology practice
