B. Riley Advisory is seeking a full-time Real Estate Analystto work in our Atlanta office.

The Real Estate Analyst provides real estate analysis and valuation, cash flow modeling, and due diligence services to clients in all real estate sectors, such as retail, office, industrial, hospitality, multi-family, single family, student housing and senior housing.

Our advisory services include real estate valuation reports and financial consulting for the purposes of financial reporting, transaction support, and expert witness and litigation support. Some of the more common applications and uses of our services include the following: due diligence, acquisition, disposition, financing, investing, lending, purchase price allocations, fund valuations, fairness opinions, solvency opinions, and expert witness reports and testimony.

Duties of this position include the following:

  • Reviews, analyzes and interprets client provided financial and operational data.
  • Uses judgment to apply assumptions in arriving at preliminary engagement conclusions.
  • Creates financial / valuation models and prepares exhibits to illustrate and support the engagement conclusions, assumptions and calculations to be included in reports for clients and workpapers.
  • Understands and properly utilizes valuation techniques such as market, income and cost approaches when performing valuation engagements.
  • Identifies key conclusion drivers and properly accounts for them in financial / valuation models.
  • Participates in management interviews with the subject company to gather data pertinent to the engagement through direct client interaction.
  • Undertakes projects on own initiative, without needing to be told or encouraged to do so.
  • Report writing - Presents the results of our analysis in a clear and concise manner.
  • Record keeping – Documents all pertinent data used in analysis.
  • Property inspections – Domestic and international travel required to inspect real estate including residential, commercial and industrial properties.

Education, Experience, and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in real estate or business or other related major with classes in real estate, finance, accounting and economics from an accredited college/university.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a real estate, property management, valuation, finance or accounting role at a real estate company, a financial institution or an accounting or advisory firm is a plus.
  • Demonstrated real estate analytical and technical skills, financial analysis and modeling fluency, and knowledge and use of real estate valuation are a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent knowledge and use of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
  • Valid driver’s license and passport.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $37,035.03 - $163,368.24 per year
