POSITION SUMMARY

Under general supervision, prepare and review all real estate documents, inventories and accounts and audit data for accuracy, completeness and compliance for trust property owners and/or heirs in the Maniilaq service area, and coordinate with the BIA Alaska Regional Office Realty Department for submission and processing.


PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Provide real property management, counseling, and land use planning services as well as address rights protection issues to individuals who own interest in trust property.

2. Develop or oversee the development of necessary paperwork related to proposed sale/lease of trust property to be forwarded to the BIA Alaska Regional Realty Department for review and approval process.

3. Maintain effective working relationships with federal, state, and/or private parties involved in land administration and protection for the benefit of restricted land owners.

4. Supervise realty program staff and assist in the development and monitoring of the program budget and daily operations.

5. Coordinate advocacy of native rights and secure available technical services in protecting the rights of trust property owners.

6. Perform field investigations to gather data necessary for proper resolution in any disputes, trespass issues or land administration.

7. Provide assistance in the review process and public comment period regarding legislation affecting realty and rights protection services.

8. Participate and receive training in continuous improvement process and tools to enhance quality service delivery to individuals who own interest in trust property.

9. Perform or assume other work or job related duties as assigned.



Job Qualifications:


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma or equivalent and two years of direct work experience in BIA Realty program. Supervisory, budgetary and program management experience preferred. Excellent written and oral communication skills required. Knowledge of the Maniilaq service area, its people and culture preferred. Must be willing to travel frequently sometimes in small planes. Computer literacy required.
