Position Summary
Receive and store daily food, beverage, and non-food products. Maintain the general storeroom, walk-in coolers, and main kitchen freezer, in accordance with general stocking practices and serve safe requirements. Rotate stock to ensure wholesome, quality food and beverage. Issue and deliver food, beverage, and non-food products to departments in accordance to the requisition policies and procedures. Assist the purchasing clerk with all food and beverage related inventories.
Responsibilities
- Works with Purchasing Supervisor, Executive Chef and Sous Chefs, to issue requisitions for groceries, meats, poultry, seafood, dairy, and produce in a timely manner.
- Works with food service coordinators regarding the issuing of household stock requisitions.
- Works closely with outlet managers and healthcare food coordinators to order coffee, tea, paper goods, soft drinks, and alcoholic beverages for daily operations and special function in the absence of the purchasing clerk.
- Responsible for daily operations of the storeroom, coolers, and freezer in the main kitchen. Manages the receiving and placement of products in assigned storeroom location in an organized manner.
- Manage validation of product weight, quality, quantity ordered, invoice conflicts, substitutions, and storage organization.
- Comply with HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) for quick storage of all proteins including Fresh Seafood, Meats, and Poultry.
- Collection and submission of daily food and non-food supplier invoices.
- Distribution of IL/AL UPS deliveries Monday through Friday.
- Works with purchasing supervisor to ensure that all food and beverage and general merchandise is updated and listed in master inventory sheets.
- Works with purchasing clerk to count month end inventories
- Distribution of outside vendor deliveries (UPS, Amazon, LaserShip, FedEx, and USPS)
- Maintains records of receipt, mailing dates, and other required information
Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
- Some work experience in related field preferred.
- Must have a good knowledge of food, beverage, and food production procedures
- Ability to read, write and speak the English language fluently in order to complete forms, inventories, read billings, invoices and communicate with co-workers and suppliers.
- Office Machines: operate calculator/10 key, copier, fax, telephone.

- Lifting/Carrying up to 50lbs
