Hospice Receptionist – Full-time

As a non-profit organization serving Maui for over 35 years, Hospice Maui is honored to have earned the community’s trust as the respected hospice leader on Maui.

Job Summary

The Hospice Receptionist is responsible for creating a warm, responsive interaction with callers, visitors, patient families and staff acting as the communication hub for the organization, meeting specific administrative needs that arise, and offering IT support. The Receptionist also spends up to two hours per week at the bedside of a hospice patient in the inpatient facility (Hale).

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience required.
  • Associates degree in Office Administration or Business Technology preferred.

Experience

  • Two years of reception or related office experience to include multi-line phone system required.
  • Previous hospice, medical or healthcare office experience preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, GSuite, smart phones, and apps.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication, customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Sensitivity, personality and demeanor to deal professionally with the public, patients at the end-of-life, and/or grieving family members.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and harmoniously with others.
  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced office environment with frequent interruptions.

Hospice Maui conducts post-offer background checks and drug testing.
