PRIMARY FUNCTIONS

Provides support with recovery and resiliency and domestic violence services to all family members assigned while they participate in the De Colores program, and assist in seeking resources necessary to support their independence.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Must be able to work with families in crisis and be able to offer supportive services.
  • Must have case management/Advocacy experience
  • Ability to work in an active environment and possess excellent time management skills.
  • Excellent networking skills.
  • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) required.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and ability to be insured under automotive insurance policy.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule as needed per program requirements.
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Have good organization and time management skills.
  • Must have current Fingerprint Clearance Card or ability to have within 60 days of employment
  • Must pass a background screening prior to start
  • Must be 21 years of age.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND COMPETENCIES


1. Provide appropriate economic empowerment supportive services and individual case management in a shelter setting to survivors of sexual and domestic violence. Support clients to increase their knowledge of economic community resources.


2. Develop Economic and Skills Assessments to be delivered upon intake at shelter- and community-based programs.


3. Enroll clients in De Colores Financial Literacy Education.


4. Accompany clients to appointments, assist with technology, and processes.


5. Design and deliver workshops on economic development, self-esteem, healing groups, trauma-informed care, and crisis support.


6. Provide coverage support at shelter


7. Maintain client records for all services rendered.


8. Complete all training courses within the timeframe specified.


9. Participate in program activities, staff and clinical meetings, and planning and problem-solving.


10. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.


JOB DEMANDS


Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing. Able to work in an active environment with clientele that require special attention.


CONTINUOUS EDUCATION


Employee is expected to participate in continuous learning, competency building, and maintenance of case management and crisis intervention skills.


TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS


Work is performed in the community, satellite offices and at the shelter.


ACCOUNTABILITY


Reports to and is supervised directly by the Shelter Program Manager. Employee is accountable for understanding and complying with CPLC policies and procedures.
