Job description

AMHC has just expanded its Recovery program and is looking for a Recovery Coach in the Central Aroostook area. This Person will work out of the Aroostook Recovery Center of Hope (ARCH) in Houlton and will provide non-clinical services intended to aid individuals in establishing and maintaining recovery from addiction. The Recovery Coach promotes a recovery-based approach to member care with an emphasis on respect, self-direction, and empowerment by providing peer support, personal assistance, education on community resources, and other supportive services for individuals with a substance use disorder (SUD). The chosen candidate will be expected to demonstrate the core values of AMHC by showing Integrity, Compassion, Excellence, Service, Collaboration, and Respect to co-workers, clients, and community members.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of High School diploma or equivalent is required
• 1 year of sustained recovery from SUD, or lived experience (with family/friend who has SUD) is required

Responsibilities & Expectations:

• Maintain a Compassionate interest in the welfare of recoverees and Respect each by seeing them as unique individuals and assisting in advocacy
• Collaborate with recoverees in multiple settings including the recovery centers, behavioral health centers, hospitals, law enforcement entities, homeless shelters, etc
• Uphold the focus on Excellence and Service by engaging in community outreach and cultivating positive, trusting relationships with the community and recoverees.
• Adhere to AMHC'c policies and procedures in order to maintain the Integrity of services offered.

Schedule:

• This is a 40-hour per week position
