General Summary

The Recruiter drives the recruiting effort of top talent for Weldon Contractors and Weldon Services.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • In-House Talent Acquisition Specialist for plumbing and HVAC trades as well as Project Coordinators and admin staff
  • Partners with hiring managers to determine staffing needs
  • Posts jobs to internal and external websites as necessary. Maintains job postings.
  • Screens resumes, interviews candidates (by phone or in person), administers appropriate assessments and reference/background checking, making recommendations for hire (or not hire) for both exempt and nonexempt position openings.
  • Uses traditional and nontraditional resources, such as career fairs, online job fairs, community network events, etc., to identify and attract quality candidates.
  • Provide an efficient and high-touch experience for every candidate from application stage to offer, evaluating skill level, driving the interview and offer process, including reference checks, salary recommendations and closing of candidates.
  • Maintain integrity of data in the Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS); utilize sourcing tools, referral programs, and agency vendor management
  • Partner with leadership to create an attractive environment for candidates
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve the recruiting process and employee experience
  • Follows up with candidates and hiring managers to obtain feedback regarding recruiting process.
  • Communicates important employment information during delivery of employment offers
  • Coordinates and maintains all new hire paperwork and performs data entry of all new hires into

HRIS and payroll system

  • Submits background checks, MVR, and drug screen requests for all potential new hires
  • Ensures applicants have completed all pre-employment testing prior to clearing for hire
  • Prepares new employee files; completes new hire reporting through state OAG portal and files documents as required
  • Uses company communications and programs to increase employee satisfaction and retention
  • Assists Human Resource management team with various special projects or duties as requested
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • 60 Hours of College courses; or 2 years of previous HR experience working in Talent Acquisition or related discipline
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Experience hiring in the construction or any contracting field preferred
  • Problem solving—resolves problems in a timely manner and gathers and analyzes information skillfully
  • Interpersonal Skills—maintains confidentiality, remains open to others’ ideas and exhibits willingness to try new things

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
