Position Summary:
This position is responsible for leadership and recruitment of foster and adoptive parents. Assesses marketing strategies for foster and adoptive home recruitment and develops plans for retention of resource families. Develops and organizes special events to support the Agency and community.

This position is also responsible for assessing and licensing foster home applicants and maintaining those homes for the placement of foster children. Trains, prepares and supports foster parents. Responsible for coordinating with foster care program staff during the placement of foster children.

Essentials Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Coordinates and participants in recruitment and retention activities.
  • Orients prospective foster families through individual and group processes.
  • Coordinates services with foster care and adoption programs and staff.
  • Develops of marketing plans, marketing materials, and coordinates special events.
  • Provides inquiry services and information to prospective resource families.
  • Collaborates with community partners.
  • Assists with the development of annual recruitment and retention plans.
  • Certifies and maintains foster homes in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Division of Child Welfare, Department of Health and Human Services, and the Council on Accreditation.
  • Assesses and trains foster parents and relatives.
  • Participates in immediate placements, day-in, and emergency services.
Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of computer systems and relevant software.
  • Ability to make appropriate assessments and recommendations.
  • Ability to develop and implement marketing plans.
  • Ability to organize special events.
  • Ability to work with community organizations and use community resources to meet client needs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to relate to diverse populations and cultures while communicating with clients and the public in a courteous and effective manner.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment.
Recommended Employment Qualifications:
Education:
A Bachelor's Degree in human services or related field is required.

Experience:
A minimum of three years of related experience in human services is required.

Wage Range:$39,000.00-$44,070.00

none required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
