Job Summary

We are searching for a Coordinator to carry out all Recruitment and Outreach activities for the College of Engineering, Design and Computer (CEDC).

Nature of Work

Under the guidance of the Director of Enrollment Services, this position will identify and implement consistent with effective recruiting strategies, carry out outreach programs, and prepare related student communications. Activities include coordination, implementation and oversight of recruiting and K-12 outreach events; collaborating on event communication plans; and supervision of student workers.

Examples of Work Performed

  • Develop and implement processes effective with recruiting strategies for admissions goals set by college leadership, identifying specific methods as they relate to events, activities, planning, technology, marketing, social networking, etc.
  • Manage recruitment activities, such as open houses, information sessions (in person and online), etc. promoting diversity within recruiting efforts and collaborating with faculty, staff, students and alumni to develop engaging programming.
  • Provide feedback, gather relevant attendance and follow-up data from events to evaluate effectiveness of outreach and recruitment efforts and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Counsel prospective students at recruiting events with regards to degree offerings and admissions processes.
  • Manage relationship-building initiatives with local community colleges and area high schools; coordinate college participation in field-specific fairs, conferences and events both on and off campus to promote CEDC programs.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and other key internal partners (e.g., Graduate School, Career Center, Registrar, etc.) and with external organizations and entities to promote CEDC and collaborate on outreach and recruitment efforts.
  • Serve as the CEDC consultant/liaison for university-sponsored outreach events, programs and activities.
  • Works closely with the Academic and Administrative Deans, department Program Managers and marketing services team on new and continuing academic programs to provide student recruiting and enrollment support.
  • Support the work of faculty and staff on projects related to recruitment and retention.
  • Develop programming for visits from local middle and high school STEM programs and for events aimed at building/maintaining external relationships.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $58,442 to $60,000.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.

Qualifications


Minimum Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in higher education, marketing, journalism, public relations, communications, business, student personnel or a related field.
  • Two year directly related experience in outreach, recruitment, marketing or sales.

Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field (such as marketing, communications, journalism, public affairs, business, higher education, etc.).
  • Experience with the marketing and of adult education, higher education, science education or university outreach.
  • Three years directly related experience in outreach, recruitment, marketing or sales.
  • Familiarity with local school districts, community colleges and other four-year colleges.
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience.

  • Ability to travel to events and work evenings and weekends as required.
