Job description
Serves as the point of contact for candidates and hiring managers and is responsible for the coordination and administration of vacancies from inception to orientation. Provides efficient, effective, professional, and comprehensive customer service to ensure the best possible candidates are recruited and retained in the shortest amount of time. Ensures timely processing of applicants throughout entire recruiting, hiring, and onboarding phases. Sources active and passive candidates for filing EMS vacancies and workforce development in conjunction with the Public Information and Communications Specialist, Community Relations Specialist, and Human Resources, utilizing approved marketing channels including but not limited to advertising, social media, and communication campaigns. Initiates, develops, and maintains successful relationships with recruiting sources including but not limited to regulatory, professional, scholastic, and community organizations, recognizing every business-related function as a recruiting opportunity. Oversees daily applicant recruitment process including screening and communicating with and scheduling candidates including a particular focus on filling and coordinating Assessment Centers. Administers application tracking. Proactively assists with all aspects of the recruitment process to include guidance, coordination, legal requirements, candidate screening, and recommendations. Provides assistance with internal candidate interview preparation as well as provides follow-up feedback sessions after interview process. Develops and administers recruiting and marketing materials. Understands all facets of compensation to enable clear and complete communication with candidates; must calculate compensation accurately and make competitive job offers. Ensures recruitment processes are legal, fair, and consistent upholding all regulatory requirements. Actively seeks to increase candidate pool diversity to further the organization's effort to increase hiring diversity. Actively participates with EMS committees, work teams, and focus groups as needed. Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university or equivalent years of working experience in Human Resources or as a Paramedic. Prior recruiting experience preferred. Human Resources Certification or Paramedic preferred. Reports to Director of Administration.
