REDCap Administrator - Maine CDC

The REDCap administrator provides (1) support and maintenance of the COVID Point of Care (POC) testing project, (2) development and maintenance of new REDCap surveys, and (3) analysis and outreach as needed as a member of the Infectious Disease Epidemiology Team. Work is performed under administrative direction.

Required:
  • High school diploma and experience in REDCap and the National Electronic Disease Surveillance System Base System (NBS)
Preferred candidates will also have:
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to gather, synthesize, and summarize a variety of information
  • The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse group of internal and external partners
  • Computer skills, including knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and graphic design software
And the ability to:
  • Communicate complex health information to many audiences

  • Organize, disseminate, and report public health information

2. Duties and Deliverable (Outline of specific job duties)
Specific duties required of the resource, as well as any expected deliverables, including necessary travel expectations.
  • Maintain user accounts for the REDCap POC project including onboarding new users and verifying CLIA status
  • Troubleshoot issues with REDCap reporting and work with users and OIT to remedy barriers to data use
  • Work with COVID surveillance epis to ensure proper reporting into NBS including updating records as necessary
  • Maintain Emergency Contact REDCap project including monthly reminders for updates
  • Develop, refine, and administer the annual needs assessment project
  • Develop new REDCap projects as needed
  • Assist in analysis and produce summary reports for REDCap projects
  • Assist with grant writing and completing grant objectives.
  • Attend relevant meetings, work sessions, and conferences.
  • Contribute to Infectious Disease Surveillance evaluation, performance improvement, outbreak preparedness, and response planning
  • Assist in additional duties as reasonably assigned.
3. Schedule
Summary of work schedule, including normal working hours, on-call expectations, allowed time off (which is non-billable), ability to work remote.
  • These are full time 8 AM – 5 PM positions. Normal schedule is M-F, but modified schedules may be required as needed by Maine CDC. Hours worked over 45 are paid on a straight basis (hour for hour compensation) when specifically pre-approved in writing by the Maine CDC manager.
  • Each resource must conform to the State working schedule (i.e., snow days, holidays etc.), if the State of Maine is working the contractor will be required to work.
  • This position is fully remote
  • Any vacant position must be approved by the Department prior to posting. If approved for hire, vacant positions must be posted publicly within seven (7) days of approval for a minimum of 14 days. All rates must be approved by the Maine CDC manager prior to an offer being made to the candidate.
