While the business was first founded in 1980 as a waitress staffing agency offering a flexible source of income for women in the arts, today we provide food service in an array of celebrated New York City cultural institutions. You will find Great performances at Jazz at Lincoln Center, Brooklyn Museum, Brooklyn Academy of Music, Wave Hill, and The Apollo Theater, among others. We are equally known for corporate workplace dining and amenity programs, and of course, full-service catering, special events, and culinary festival production. Great Performances is the nation’s first caterer to own and operate its own organic farm, Katchkie Farm located in Kinderhook, NY. Focus:

The ideal candidate is a seasoned chef with a background in multi-unit kitchen management. You will oversee the chef at each restaurant and be responsible for quality control, costs, including labor and food, employee management, and communication with the corporate management team.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Lead, develop, and manage direct reports
• Create and implement standardizations for quality and consistency in food production
• Uphold and teach Great Performance’s food quality standards throughout the kitchens
• Ensure upkeep of kitchen maintenance, sanitation and food safety, working with the onsite team and a 3rd party DOH consultant
• Responsible for kitchen labor, budget and costs
• Responsible for food labor and costs
• Work with each location to oversee production and manage inventory and waste
• Assist with forecasting food production and ordering
• Ensure schedules are being maintained and respected
• Work with HR to manage employee relations
• Track equipment maintenance and repairs
• Create SOPs for chefs and managers at each location
• Be proficient at client and executive level communication
