What Are We Looking For?
UCI is currently looking for a Regional Laboratory Coordinator to join our team. Under the direction of the Director of Laboratory Services the Regional Laboratory Coordinator performs laboratory audits for an assigned region within the state to ensure compliance with established policies, procedures, guidelines and requirements set by laboratory governing agencies. Provides education and training for staff regarding laboratory and occupational medicine services administered by Doctors Care including, but not limited to: Drug Screens, Breath Alcohol Testing, DOT exams, etc.
Do You Have What It Takes?
A good candidate will bring with them:
  • Associate's degree health sciences, biology or related field
  • Three (3) or more years of experience in a healthcare laboratory setting
  • Extensive knowledge of laboratory regulations and laws within a healthcare system
  • Experience training staff within a healthcare laboratory setting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Highly organized and ability to prioritize work for timely completion
  • Effective communication skills, both verbally and written
  • Ability to understand and interpret complex instructions
  • Ability to maintain strict level of confidentiality
  • Willing to work twelve (12) hour shifts and weekends if necessary
  • Ability to travel throughout region
An ideal candidate would also have:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher-level education in health sciences, biology, or related field
  • Certified Medical Technologist (MT), Certified Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) or other laboratory related certification from American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP)
  • One (1) or more years of responsibility and progressive experience in an administrative capacity
  • One (1) or more years of Blood Alcohol Test (BAT) training experience
  • Intoximeters calibration certification
