Make an impact and provide leadership and guidance to our area's youth as a Regional Teen Coordinator!

The Regional Coordinator will provide leadership for 4 to 5 Y branches and communities in their region that offer Youth & Government (YG) and Model UN (MUN) programs that address local, state, national and global issues by working with a part time team and volunteers. The Regional Coordinator will provide leadership to association YG/MUN programs and Teen summer camp programs. They will partner with existing non-profit and for-profit organizations to maintain or create a presence in communities on teen programs offered by the YMCA. This position will focus on youth ranging from middle school to high school.

Primary Duties

  • Oversee Youth and Government & MUN program for the Y by supporting existing partnerships with schools, bringing in new partnerships, volunteers, and schools
  • Provide leadership, design, and deliver quality summer teen camps to be hosted at Y branches and in the community
  • Responsible for 4 to 5 branches and service area for Teen Camp and YG/MUN Programs
  • Support and attend annual one-day District YG Conference for District 5
  • Provides support and attend multi-day State Conferences and National Conferences - virtual or in person

Preferred Qualifications:

The Regional Teen Coordinator must demonstrate skills in curriculum design, volunteer development, building and maintaining effective community collaborations and partnerships and event planning are a must. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills and the ability to work effectively within teams are also essential elements of this position.

  • 1 to 3 years of experience working with teens and/or volunteers and community
  • Minimum age: 18 years of age
  • Ability to work Monday - Friday 2:00pm - 6:pm and some Saturdays doing school year, summer hours consist of 40hrs weeks
  • Must complete all necessary training
  • Knowledgeable in Youth & Government /MUN or a civic engagement program
  • Passion for working with youth as evidenced by experiences
  • Self-starter with a strong work ethic and organizational skills
  • Creative and innovative
  • Sensitive to the cultural backgrounds of the youth and their families
  • Be organized, attentive to detail, and have good follow through skills
  • Possess the ability to execute all programs represented in the daily schedule
