The Regional Test Automation Engineer serves as Test Automation Engineer for Systems Quality Assurance Team in implementing and executing exploratory testing suite to ensure every phase and feature of the software solution meets expected behavior and that any potential issue is identified and remediated to ensure quality before released to the production environment. Responsible for creation and maturation of automated testing suite for complex and multi-system initiatives for North American Region.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Supports all technology systems testing for corporate projects, enhancements, and break-fix initiatives
  • Responsible for implementation and maintenance of a comprehensive end-to-end automation testing strategy and supporting test cases to ensure that all the objectives are met and that the solution works as expected. The solution should be tested in terms of functionality, reliability, stability, and compatibility with other legacy and/or external systems and functionality
  • Responsible for creation of automation framework and suite maintenance including configuring Selenium Test Environment (STE), participating in Selenium Environment Setup with IT resources leveraging an Integrated Development Environment (IDE)
  • Creates documentation around best practices and standard operating procedures to share with the team
  • Assist SQA Managers with test automation road mapping to support growth of overall initiative
  • Proactively identifies and makes recommendations to management for process improvements based on knowledge of all platforms and existing test suites
  • Executes comprehensive system testing including regression tests in accordance with the documented test plan and cases with minimal supervision required based on proactive research of current and impacted functionality within relevant systems
  • Partner with manual tester to map out plan of execution and provide appropriate status updates on execution success for both types of testing
  • Isolate, document, replicate, and report automation defects and verify defect remediations
  • Partner with IT resources to quickly identify and remediate architectural issues related to object identity and error handling to avoid delays in test automation execution
  • Act as a mentor to support less tenured resources on assigned tasks and development of automation skillset
  • Manual testing assignments as assigned in addition to automation responsibilities utilizing AGA approved template for test plans and test cases, including applicable regression suite in JIRA to ensure all requirements are properly tested for all methodologies
  • Participates in requirements meetings, reviews approved requirements based on project methodology (business/functional requirements or epics/user stories) to ensure full understanding of individual deliverables
  • Participates in estimation process for Agile or Waterfall projects to assist with accurate timeline identification
  • Facilitate the review meeting, document, and track stakeholder approvals on test plans and test cases and store approvals in appropriate location to ensure adequate audit trail
  • Actively participate in all project meetings providing updates regarding deliverables

WHAT YOU WILL NEED


Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum five (5) years of overall testing experience
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of proven results of successfully implementing, executing, and maturation of test automation suite
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Selenium Test Automation Framework including Java, Ruby, and/or Python automation languages
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Windows, SQL, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Internet Browsers
  • Strong analytical skills and understanding of quantitative and statistical analysis
  • Strong situational analysis and decision-making abilities
  • Advanced computer and mobile/smart device literacy.
  • Intermediate knowledge of applicable platforms leveraged in the North American Region – backend system of record, web platforms, and applicable services
  • The candidate must be self-motivated and a fast learner, flexible enough to work on new technologies as well as legacy components.

Preferred Qualifications include:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Experience in an insurance or call center environment
  • Testing Certification – CTFL or equivalent
  • Basic Knowledge of Atlassian Tools Suite – JIRA, Confluence, and Zephyr
