Regional Youth Coordinator
Job description
The Regional Youth Coordinator, which is an entry-level position works under the general supervision of the Director of Communications and the direct supervision of the Communications and Community Outreach Liaison. The Regional Youth Coordinator acts as a liaison between stakeholders and the Detroit Wayne Integrated Health Network (DWIHN) to ensure the concerns of youth are considered and potentially implemented into policies and procedures when accessing services and supports in Wayne County.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
- Works directly with and cultivates relationships with partners to develop and execute community events, trainings and workshops throughout the year.
- Plans, coordinates and facilitates regional youth-led projects, events/activities from conception to completion.
- Provides supervision, coaching and mentoring to Youth Advocates.
- Works alongside provider agencies to oversee Youth United activities.
- Facilitates regional team meetings and regular planning meetings with Youth Advocates.
- Organizes presentations and speaks on children/youth related matters to stakeholders and at local, state and national conferences.
- Represents children/youth voice at state level meetings and conferences on matters pertaining to children’s services.
- Participates in all meetings related to youth involvement activities, i.e. Children’s System Transformation, Youth Move Detroit, Wayne County Youth Involvement Committee.
- Develops activity reports; collects and organizes resources; and prepares correspondence for assigned activities.
- Reports outcomes to the Systems of Care Manager and the Communications Director.
- Creates flyers for various events and activities.
- Performs related work as assigned.

Required Education:
A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Public Health, Criminal Justice or a related human or social services field.
Required Licenses:
A valid State of Michigan Driver’s License with a safe and acceptable driving record
Work Environment:
This position is a hybrid work environment. There will be in-person events during the week and on the weekends that will be required.
