NURSING CARE FUNCTIONS:

• Monitors medication passes and treatment schedules to assure that medications and treatments are being administered as ordered.
• Performs rounds of the nursing unit to ensure that nursing service personnel are performing their work assignments in accordance with acceptable nursing standards.
• Complete and investigate accidents/incidents.
• Performs root cause analysis on employees who sustain an injury at work.
• Assists with abuse/neglect reporting as directed.
• Acts as a liaison between physicians, Members, families and Member care team to ensure physician orders are accurately carried out and documented using the information from the Members plan of care
• Listen to shift report and keep open lines of communication with supervisor, co-workers and on-coming shift.
• Attend nurses and team meetings as scheduled and/or assigned.
• Report occupational exposures to needle sticks, blood, body fluids, infectious materials, and hazardous chemicals in accordance with facility policy and procedures governing accidents and incidents.
• Responds to all emergency situations within the facility
