Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Stepdown Intermediate Care RN to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive care to patients who require intermediate-level monitoring and treatment, typically those who have recently been transferred from an intensive care unit.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care in a stepdown intermediate care setting, using advanced nursing knowledge and skills.
- Monitor and assess patient conditions, interpreting data and responding promptly to changes in status.
- Administer medications, perform treatments, and manage complex medical devices, as directed by physicians and in accordance with established policies and protocols.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans for each patient.
- Educate patients and families about their medical conditions, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
- Document patient care activities and outcomes in accordance with established standards and regulations.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education programs to enhance nursing practice and patient outcomes.
- Serve as a resource and advocate for patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Provide support and guidance to nursing assistants and other healthcare support staff.
Requirements:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of [State]
- Minimum of 2 years of recent acute care nursing experience, with at least 1 year of experience in an intermediate or stepdown care setting.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) & Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications preferred.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Flexibility to work day, evening, and/or night shifts as needed.
