Cape Fear Animal Hospital, a National Veterinary Associates practice, is seeking to add the 4th Registered Veterinary Technician to our three technician/4 assistant team. Our four doctor, small animal practice is the oldest continuously operated veterinary facility in the Fayetteville area. Our technicians fully utilize their knowledge and skills in a fun, team-based environment.
Technicians work between the hours of 7:20am-6:30 pm with a regular scheduled day off, and rotating weekends (one half-day Saturday every 2-3 weeks and full weekend treatments every 4-6 weeks). One holiday per year is also required.
We utilize AviMark Software, Idexx and Abaxis laboratory suites, digital radiography and dental radiography, ultrasound, in-house ECG, tonometry, blood pressure by Doppler, advanced surgical monitors and bair huggers. Because we believe in providing the safest care possible, all anesthetic procedures require pre-anesthetic bloodwork and intravenous fluid administration. We also offer a full range of wellness plans designed by our veterinarians to help clients provide the very best in preventative care including annual dental services.

Proficiency in common veterinary technician tasks including the following:
- Venipuncture and IV catheter placement
- Cystocentesis
- Evaluation of ear and skin cytology, fecal analysis, blood films, microscopic urinalysis and fine needle aspirates
- Surgical assistance Anesthetic monitoring
- Dental prophylaxis and dental radiography
- Familiarity with ultrasound imaging
- Administer Rabies Vaccines and Microchips during Technician Appointments

- Available to work evenings (until 6:30 PM) and rotating weekends
