Responsibilities
Position Summary:
Assists Rehabilitation Therapy staff with patient treatments, including patient transfers and patient assists, to keep equipment and space neat and clean, to assist with group activities, and to provide supervised ambulation or exercises to those patients no longer needing skilled services. The patient population is primarily adult and geriatric. The Rehabilitation Aide functions as part of the multidisciplinary team and may work closely with all therapy staff. Performs other duties as directed by supervisor. Applies Dignity Health Core Values to the performance of every job duty. Job Description:
- Greets and escorts patients to proper treatment area in a timely manner as evidenced by feedback and observation.
- Helps with patient positioning on treatment table, mats, whirlpool tanks etc. using precautions for patient safety as evidenced by feedback and observation.
- Keeps treatment rooms neat and clean, changing used linens and storing items in proper cabinets or soiled hampers as evidenced by observation.
- Contacts therapy team members and effectively communicates patient or customers needs, in a timely manner to facilitate effective treatment as evidenced by feedback.
- Demonstrates fiscal responsibility and knowledge about department expenses (e.g. supplies, equipment) used in the department as evidenced by team feedback and observation.
- Reports malfunctioning equipment or problems to responsible party and follows through with repairs of equipment by proper as evidenced by observation and feedback.
Qualifications
Experience & Education:
- HS diploma or GED
- Excellent communication skills, ability to multitas
