Hybrid Remote Schedule


This role has the option to be a blend of remote and onsite work if department and business needs allow and with approval from direct supervision. Our hybrid remote work schedule combines three (3) days on premises with up to two (2) days remote.

Key Roles


LEVEL 1: To assist in providing engineering services and support to assigned group. Works under direction of more senior individuals in work group. Willingly accepts range of assignments, subject to checks and verification by more expert team members.

LEVEL 2: To provide engineering services and support to assigned group. Works under limited direction of more senior individuals in work group. Willingly accepts range of assignments, subject to checks and verification by more expert team members.

LEVEL 3: To provide engineering services and support to assigned group. Demonstrates proficiency of technical expertise in work group area, and developing skills/familiarity in related technical areas. Ability to work independently on most assignments. Willingly accepts range of assignments, subject to limited checks and verification by more expert team members.

SENIOR: To provide expert engineering services and support to assigned group. To successfully manage assignments in a safe, regulatory compliant, timely, and cost effective manner. Demonstrates robust technical expertise in work group area and related technical areas. Ability to work independently on assignments and provide work direction to staff/contractors. Willingly accepts range of assignments. Serves as a technical representative of EKPC in a variety of public and corporate settings.

  • With significant assistance, accumulates, analyzes, interprets, monitors, and reports data on the overall operations and performance of the electric power delivery system and develops recommendations for improvement.
  • Assists with internal outage reporting process to ensure all outages, both sustained and temporary, are investigated or evaluated in a timely manner and initiates appropriate follow-up activities.
  • Completes investigation reports for substation and transmission line outages with significant assistance.
  • With assistance, communicates with owner-member engineering and operations departments to identify and answer concerns related to events or outages.
  • Assists with the development and recommendation of improvement opportunities that enhance overall operations and performance of the electric power delivery system.
  • Manages lower-level maintenance capital projects for substation and transmission line equipment with significant assistance.
  • Assists with the preparation of construction requirements and contracts for maintenance-related substation and transmission line projects, including material specifications.

Working Conditions


  • Usual office conditions with frequent field visits, which include but are not limited to working in and around substation and line construction environments where environmental demands include: dust, noise, fumes, rough/uneven terrain, extreme temperatures, etc.

  • This position often works at heights.

  • Regularly lifts up to twenty (20) pounds; occasionally lifts up to fifty (50) pounds.

  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license.

  • Travel in and outside of the electric power delivery system will be required; travel may be overnight.

  • Work outside of normal business hours may be required. Subject to emergency call-in.

  • Must wear personal protective equipment as appropriate.
