Remote EAP Counselor (California)

Counseling:
This position will provide short-term solution-focused counseling via video to Espyr members in their licensed state.

Education/training:

We at Espyr want to support our members in between those sessions and are looking for individuals to help us grow our member journey through the creation of training and educational material.

Support:

We understand that supporting members on their journey to mental well-being doesn’t always have a one-size-fits-all approach. This position will engage and lead member groups as part of their well-being journey.

Clinical support:

“One Team” is a value we take seriously at Aspyr. Despite being apart physically, you will be part of, a clinical team of providers for quality assurance evaluations, peer review of cases, and clinical continuing education.

Essential job duties include but are not limited to:
  • The majority of responsibility is to provide EAP counseling sessions in a live video modality for a diverse and engaged client population.
  • Completes all documentation within the timeframe required. Complies with all Clinical and Professional protocols, processes, and policies at all times.
  • Interfaces communicate and work in close coordination with key Espyr personnel in other roles that utilize or support the Espyr Clinician program.
  • Working with others, this position ensures and participates in the timely production, collection, analysis, and reporting of a variety of actionable data relating to the clinician program, including but not limited to the utilization of service data.
  • Utilization and maintenance of caseload and schedule within an electronic health record system.
  • Identifies supports and builds best practices among the EAP counselors and ensure uniformity of clinical and administrative processes concerning the provision of direct services in designated regions. Identifies barriers to efficient practices and operations and develops, recommends, and implements effective plans to overcome barriers and achieve key program success metrics.
  • Identification and creation of tools and resources to support member well-being and enhance the member experience.
  • Participation and engagement in cross-functional clinical project teams for idea-sharing and content creation
  • Provides other related duties and activities as apparent or directed.

Skills and Abilities:
  • Familiarity with Employee Assistance Programs and Services, and in assessing and referring as needed.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills; competency with Electronic Health Records, PowerPoint, and other training and presentation technology.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, relationship-building, and consultative skills.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, problem resolution, and proactive communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Analyzes, evaluates, assimilates, and understands incoming information and uses cognitive skills to determine direction independently.
  • Response, answers or directs information requests on a variety of topics.
  • Adapts easily to change and to shifting priorities.
  • Remains calm under pressure, displaying enthusiasm and positivity.
  • Efficient, detail-oriented, and able to multitask.
  • Must be able to work independently as a part of a Team.
  • Must be able to perform tasks in a fast-paced environment and meet strict deadlines.
  • Proactively identifies solutions that enhance team performance and improve customer retention and relations.

Candidates must meet the following job requirements at a minimum to apply:
  • Must have a Master’s or Doctorate (required for licensure).
  • Maintains unrestricted active mental health professional license(s) in the state of California.
    • Able to work independently, without supervision from a licensed supervisor.
    • No current, past, or pending disciplinary action.
  • Three or more years of professional experience and success, in the provision of direct mental health care service.
  • Able to provide telehealth services remotely to California residents.
  • Able to work full-time, approximately 40 hours/week.
