Online retailer that is a remote-first business, is adding a Senior Accountant to their team. This is a 100% remote position. The Senior Accountant will work in a demanding, highly visible, and fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will partner with the Finance and Operations teams and will have a significant impact on the continued success of the organization.

The Senior Accountant will help operate our finance and accounting processes as we strive to improve the customer experience while controlling costs. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for day-to-day processing of the accounting and finance functions for the company, ensuring the month end close is done timely and accurately, compile the monthly financials, and assist in creating best in class business processes.

More specific responsibilities include:

• Own the calculation and entry of required journal entries.
• Perform required account reconciliations timely.
• Assist the VP of Finance and Accounting Manager with accounting and finance projects.
• Working with the Accounting and Finance team to close the monthly/quarterly/annual books on time and accurately.
• Assist with facilitating the annual audit.
• Identify, promote and implement process improvements that do one or more the following: 1). Reduce costs 2). Increase efficiency 3). Improve accuracy 4). Add critical functionality that supports the company’s operations.

Requirements:

• A bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• 1-5 years of experience working in a similar role.
• Outstanding analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, with an emphasis on Excel.
• Experience in NetSuite is a plus.
