Nature Soy is a major soy product manufacturer located in Folcroft, PA. Since 1989, Nature Soy has been bringing naturally delicious soy products to American tables. With a passion for soy and simple, real food, we offer a wide variety of fresh, high quality soy and vegetarian products for all types of diets.

We are currently looking for a Research & Development Food Science Associate to conduct research for product innovation, support R&D initiatives and the execution of new product launches from concept to commercialization. This will encompass understanding the intricacies of the recipes, safeguarding the recipes, cooking products, and maintaining a safe and sanitary workplace. I deal candidates will have formal culinary experience, be detail-oriented, have strong organization skills, be skilled communicator, and love making plant-base products.

This position will report to the Research & Development Director with the following principle duties:

• Vegan/plant base food and beverages making experience preferred
• Assist with development of production procedures
• Assist in product quality and flavor improvement projects
• Provide in put on bench top formulations that balance product function, flavor, cost of goods, and manufacturing capabilities to produce the best possible product
• Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date laboratory notebooks and records in accordance with company product development processes
• Assist with running experimental and pilot scale testing of new and/or improved product concepts.

Requirements:

• Bachelor Degree in Food Science, Culinary Arts or related field strongly preferred
• Must be willing to travel between headquarters in Folcroft and sister company in Philadelphia (approx. 10%) or Parsippany (Less than 5%)
• Extreme awareness of how to keep confidential and sensitive information
• Must be detail-oriented and someone that strives for perfection, consistency and reproducibility
• Reliability in managing multiple situations simultaneously and accurately in a fast-paced environment
• Strong planning, prioritizing, organization, and problem-solving ability

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
