Position Title: Research Office Specialist (Temporary - 6 months)
Job Class: Hourly/Non-Exempt; $20 - $26/hour DOE
Reports To: Dr. Amanda Wood
Summary:
The Research Office Specialist will support the principal investigator and study coordinators with organizing and managing research records. This is a temporary (6 month) full-time role without benefits. This position is located at the American Lake Division.
Experience, Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor s degree in a relevant scientific and/or research field preferred.
  • Experience in clinical research preferred
  • Experience managing regulatory documentation for human subjects clinical trials, preferably in a VA setting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent data entry skills

Responsibilities:

  • Review, maintain, organize, and catalog research records following all appropriate R&D, IRB, and Privacy Office requirements
  • Maintain critical document binders and assist with all regulatory documentation and recordkeeping in adherence to the protocol and all relevant R&D and IRB regulations
  • Create and maintain research administration databases to track disposition of archived studies, maintain documentation of research records, and track destruction of records and destruction dates
  • Responsible for the storage and shipping/handling of all laboratory samples, as well as other study materials, in compliance with all IATA regulations
  • Prepare documents and reports for annual audits
  • Manage, administer, and ensure data quality, security, and maintenance of data files and database systems for current and past studies
  • Prepare documentation for study data archive and destruction, following all regulatory requirements
  • Clerical administrative duties regarding organizing and maintaining research records and research administration
  • Other duties as assigned
