What You'll Do:

  • Assist others in Community Services Division (i.e., CSD) with completion of assigned projects by coordinating research activities with other office units.
  • Independently coordinates research efforts & projects with other departmental units, outside agencies &/or consultants (e.g., CSD grantees & internal program teams).
  • Gather necessary data from office databases (Ohio Community & Energy Assistance Network [i.e., OCEAN], Salesforce, US Department of Housing & Urban Development [i.e.,HUD], Integrated Disbursement & Information System [i.e., IDIS], FOXPRO) for completing these projects.
  • Review & analyze problems & issues to be researched & develops appropriate research tools (e.g., data forms, indexes, processing packages, conceptual models, publications, methodology, design of experiments, hypotheses testing).
  • Design & implement research projects & prepares & maintains necessary reports, records &/or technical evaluations relative to project.
  • Provide maintenance & documentation support to information system users &/or IT specialists (e.g., provides maintenance support for application software).
  • Generate enhancements for existing infrastructure, software or database systems in compliance with specifications & standards (e.g., creates &/or modifies program modules, creates database diagrams & reports, writes standard queries, writes test cases &/or scripts for unit & systems testing, verifies unit & system test results to ensure software is producing desired results).

Qualifications

24 mos. trg. or 24 mos. exp. in planning & conducting research studies using operational, mathematical, analytical &/or statistical research techniques & preparing reports, records &/or technical evaluations related to research conducted.

  • Or 12 mos. exp. as Researcher 2, 66922.

  • Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.


Knowledge of supervisory principles/techniques*; employee training & development*; operational, mathematical, analytical &/or statistical methods used in problem solving or decision making. Skill in use of personal computer or video display terminal. Ability to deal with large number of variables & determine specific course of action; establish friendly atmosphere as lead worker; develop research tools & design projects; prepare meaningful, concise & accurate reports.
