Residential counselors provide support and guidance for individuals living in a group home environment. While they may work with a variety of individuals, most residential counselors focus on a particular group, such as children and youth, individuals dealing with mental illness or addiction, or elderly individuals.

As a residential counselor, you will provide day-to-day support for daily living activities like behavior management and socializing. Residential Counselors maintain order and discipline within the residential facilities by setting and enforcing behavioral rules and resolving conflicts between residents. They may also provide support through housekeeping and meal preparation tasks.

Experience is preferred but we are willing to teach and train indivduals who have a desire to work in the mental health and substance abuse field We are looking for individuals with at least 1 year of experience that meets the staffing requirements of a Qualified Professional, Associate Professional, and no less than a Para-Professional.

NOTE: "Para-Professional (PP)" within the mental health, developmental disabilities and substance abuse services (mh/dd/sas) system of care means an individual who is a:

With the exception of staff providing respite services or personal care services, has a GED or high school diploma; or no GED or high school diploma, employed prior to November 1, 2001 to provide a mh/dd/sa service.'

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Salisbury, NC: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

• Caregiving: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• CPR Certification (Preferred)
