Job description
Center Point DAAC (Drug Abuse Alternatives Center) is currently seeking a Residential Monitor (RM) to work in our Turning Point and Turning Point Detox programs. These are 24/7 facilities with various shifts i.e. overnights etc.
  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Serves as monitor to clients in a residential setting ensuring they are safe and following the structure of the program;
  • Coordinates and monitors the client’s activities within the residential program;
  • Files documents in client files, break down discharged client files, medication monitoring, documentation ,and observation;
  • Provides practical training/education on life skills i.e., how to open a savings account, employment and resume support; how to manage a budget, etc;
  • Performs facility and room inspections providing feedback to the clients and staff;
  • Attends and supports counseling staff during interactions with the residential population;
  • Collects urinalysis samples from clients of their gender;
  • Maintains and enforces program policies;
  • Supervises client outings as needed;
  • Treats clients and prospective clients with professionalism and courtesy at all times;
  • Provides updates of client progress to treatment team as needed;
  • Performs additional direct services as assigned by the Residential Program Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Qualified applicants must have the following:
  • Familiarity with residential treatment modality and at least two (2) years of related experience
  • Knowledge or experience in first aid and/or CPR
  • Knowledge of the social aspects and characteristics of persons who commonly use drugs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to maintain productive work relationships with clients, employees, external agencies, and the general public.
  • Establishes and maintains appropriate boundaries with clients and staff as outlined in DAAC’s Professional Code of Conduct.
  • Ability to problem solve and resolve conflict effectively.
  • Ability to maintain current certification in CPR and First Aid.
  • Valid California Driver’s License with a good driving record.
COVID-19 considerations:
The interview will be performed either remotely via Zoom Web Meetings, or online in a meeting room with Plexiglas between the interviewer and interviewee, in addition to maintaining six feet of distance.
