Position Description

TITLE: Resilient Community Programs Director

HOURS: 40 hours a week. Non Exempt. Fulltime. Generally, M-F, 8:00-5:00.

REPORTS TO: Executive Director

Supervises: Transportation Staff, Workforce Housing Staff, and Volunteers

WAGE: $20.00-$23.00, DOE

BENEFITS: Health and Retirement Stipends. 62 Hours of Professional Development.

LOCATION: In person at the Foundation Office, Nonprofit Shared Services Center, Red Lodge, MT

The Resilient Community Programs Director position is responsible for the design, implementation, and coordination of the Foundation’s efforts regarding the development of Resilient Community development and engagement as outlined in the Foundation Strategic Plan.

The Foundation’s mission is accomplished through a strong team effort that focuses on collaboration, empowerment and professional excellence. The Foundation places equal emphasis on an employee’s skills and an employee’s attitude, recognizing the combination of exceptional skills and a positive, respectful attitude make the Foundation a special environment for its employees and constituents. To that end, our staff must have a positive attitude and engage in constructive and appropriate communication. Employees must treat their employer, its constituents and each other with respect at all times. Each employee is a vital part of the Foundation’s TEAM and plays an integral role in meeting our collective goals.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participate in the Foundation Leadership Team meetings.
  • Capture stories and photos in applicable program areas when they happen, weekly.
  • Manage professional development opportunities for yourself and your staff, as it relates to the mission of the strategic plan.
  • Attend scheduled TEAM meetings, first and third Tuesday of the month.

Resilient Community

  • Supervision & Oversight of the Carbon County Transportation Project and Staff
  • Supervision & Oversight of the Workforce Housing Project and Staff
  • * Disaster preparedness: *Manage emergent volunteers, financial and in-kind donations in the event of a community disaster.
  • Overarching Community Health Statement for the City/County Created: Utilize a comprehensive statement that unifies the community on how we define health in Carbon County.
  • Age-Friendly Steering Committee – Carbon County volunteers who are dedicated to creating a community that is inclusive to all ages and abilities through communication, transportation, housing, and other emergent needs.
  • Firewood Assistance Program - Providing ½ cord of free firewood to individuals and families who are physically or financially unable to procure firewood for themselves.
  • Community Mental Health-
  • Educate and increase awareness of Mental Health resources while decreasing the associated stigma.
  • Create a long-term approach to bring mental health programming into the entire school district.
  • Create long term program options for people in the area.
  • QPR Training- organize and facilitate QPR trainings across the community.
  • Resilient Rams - In partnership with Red Lodge High School, Resilient Rams a 6-week program taught twice a year to Sophomores and Seniors.
  • States of Mind - States of Mind is a mental health speaker series. The goal is to learn from local experts who increase knowledge and decrease stigma surrounding mental health topics in our community.

  • Support and drive the resilient community initiatives of the Foundation.
  • Inspire and provide oversight and support to staff.
  • Engage, collaborate, recognize and promote other community organizations, and the representatives that we work with.
  • Remain aligned with the Foundation’s written strategic plan and the direction contained within. Meet or exceed the goals in your areas of the plan. Develop and refine them as they develop.
  • Marketing materials are clear, concise, professional and represent the Foundations values and objectives within the community.
  • Always find the positive slant in what we are doing and recognize the contributions of others.
  • Funding will be received so that project can continue to build assets, impacts, and connect those in need.
  • Donors and sponsors of your programs know you and know how the projects are progressing.
  • Strategic/Action Plan is in place.
  • People of all ages across Carbon County communities are aware of the Resilient Community initiatives.
  • Continued funding is received so the projects become sustainable.
  • Donors and sponsors of your program know you and know how the projects are progressing.
  • The steering committees are sustaining or growing in members.
  • Programs and data are being tracked to more easily forecast and assess progress.
  • Staff being supervised are able to share their progress weakly and feel they have an advocate in their supervisor.

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a TEAM. Participate in Team meetings and professional development activities as requested.
  • Strong computer skills. Proficient knowledge or willingness to learn MS Office Suite, ClickTime, and One Drive.
  • Good understanding of evolving health initiatives in the community.
  • Able to champion & develop innovative principles & concepts to spur change.
  • Ability to share and communicate high quality project related content in a timely, organized, and accurate manner.
  • Strong written/verbal communication, time management, organizational and analytical skills required
  • Ability to identify and analyze problems and provide resolutions.
  • Nonprofit experience helpful. A desire to work for a non-profit a huge plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including active listening, empathy, and ability to work effectively on teams.
  • Ability to work with changing volunteers.
  • Ability to take responsibility from concept to distribution.
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks, flexibility and meet moving deadlines with strong time management skills.
  • Act as a leader and listener- we take a collaborative not authoritative approach.
  • Ability to synthesize information while progressing on multiple tracks.
  • Neat and professional appearance.
  • Physical, mental and emotional health adequate to perform duties.
  • General sedentary work, but requires standing and walking in order to photocopy, file, and run errands within the community. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to maintain professional confidentiality.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
