ECU Health Roanoke-Chowan Hospital is a 114-bed community hospital located in Ahoskie. Serving four nearby counties, the 15-bed emergency department sees approximately 18,000 patients per year. ECU Health Roanoke-Chowan Hospital provides a wide range of health services, including medical, surgical and radiation oncology. In addition, the Wound Healing and Pain Management clinics serve as referral centers for neighboring ECU Health hospitals and providers.
Ahoskie, NC is ideally located an hour from the Norfolk/Virginia Beach area and two hours from Raleigh, Richmond, Williamsburg, and the beautiful Outer Banks of NC. Ahoskie offers a moderate cost of living, a strong sense of community, and a temperate climate and location to support a variety of year round outdoor activities, such as boating, kayaking, hunting, fishing, hiking, and golf.
Minimum Requirements
- Associate Degree or higher in an approved COARC program for Respiratory Care
- Active licensure with the North Carolina Respiratory Care Board upon hire and is maintained yearly
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Registry Eligible with RRT credential obtained within 6 months of graduation
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advance Life Support (ACLS) certifications required through the American Heart Association
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications through the American Heart Association must be completed within 6 months of employment and maintained , if not current at time of hire
- Active status with NBRC recommended
Career Levels
Level I:
- Less than 3 years of Respiratory Therapy experience
Level II:
- 3 - 10 years of Respiratory Therapy experience
Level III:
- 10 plus years of Respiratory Therapy experience
Level IV:
- 3 - 5 years of Respiratory Therpay experience
- BS Degree with specialized certifications (NBRC, ACCS, or NPS)
Other Information
- 36 hours a week
- 12 hours shifts (7 pm - 7 am)
- Required to work rotating weekends and holidays
